Expectation Reduces the Joy.

So true that we all reduce our own joy by having different expecations. Why? Why do we make up an image or situation in our minds without actually knowing the reality? What leads us to make decisions for others actions? Why do we HAVE expectations?

I have silly expectationg all the while...from people around me.

And when those are turned down, it hurts me...

I dont demand anything which is not possible or something...but yes..I do carry them.

I dont know the reason why...but I just cant carry on with life, without having certain expectations...its not me.

It's human to expect and there are righteous and quite normal expectations, such as a child would expect love and care from a parent...and how a wife would expect love and trust form her husabnd etc.

But it is the over-expecting that leads to disappointment. Pallavi I dunno if u read my Great Expectations post, but in there I have stated what I feel abt Expectations. Over-expecting would be when a friend expects his/her friend to be there for him/her all the time....u cant expect such devotion from another person even if it's ur best friend...there are times when he/she wont be able to be there for u and u cant get upset abt it...another example would be when u expect too much from ur partner...when u expect him/her to be totally in love with u and never to look at anothet man/woman...thats like sooo unrealistic...but ppl always expect such things and end up feeling creamed.

Hey I remember reading a similar kinda post at Keshu's blog...

Why do we make up an image or situation in our minds without actually knowing the reality?

We do it after knowing the reality also... It's very human to expect... and ya we endup disappointing ourselves most of the time...

Why do we HAVE expectations?
Becoz we are not perfect...
and we are a part of "Moh Maya"
hehehehe

Take care
Cheers

Hey Pallavi,

what you said might be true theoratically, but the truth is that we all always expect. and ALSO we all always want others to expect something from us. Yes its true. If no one expects anything from you, wont you feel so unwanted and unloved.....

Imagine, a child ranks first in his class, comes back home feeling great, only to find his parents as cold as ice, as they didn't have any expectations.

Imagine, a wife decorates her bedroom romantically, dresses in a sexy outfit to recieve her husband who is coming back from a business tour... but wat the hell.. her husband is far from impressed.. as he has no expectations from his wife!!!

Imagine, indian Cricket team manages to win world cup finals only to find that all the cricket fans in india dont expect anything from them, and that they hardly care whether they win or lose...

As a matter of fact, the world runs because of expectations. We all do things out of the expectations that we have from ourselves, that our parents/frinds/lover have from us.

i guess that's enough of *gyan* :o))

Amitken great words there...but I think Pallavi actually means that expecting too much can be disappointing. Ofcourse the whole world is run on expectations...w.o. expectations we cant have dreams or r'ships or even achieve goals...but it's over-expecting that leads to disappointment...
