Average family ...

looking for random answers....

What is the life of an average family in india... say a mother and a father with a daughter and a son...
how do they send the kids to school?
only pappa works?
what type of school do the kids go to?
what type of things do the parents teach kids?
what kind of tv shows do they watch?
is the girl allowed to have friends who are guys?
what are your thoughts?

Ok so the purpose of my few questions was that at one point i used to live in india and i would say my family fell in the average category. i moved to the states 12 yrs ago, if i were to be still in india...what would it be like today? just a random thought!!!! ( i know every family is differnt in their own way..but there certainly are common things ) maybe those are the things i am curious to know about....

@Zany,
oye gaurav ke bacche...Kuch Bhi!!

@Puneet,
u bring up a really good point by saying..." bt do parents have an option now???"... interesting!

and your family sounds like a mixture of traditional and western cultures = awesome combination i would say.

@amitken,
Help me on this one... i really dont know what i want to say..so i just scribbled down what came to my mind..but i think ur input will definitely give some shape to my scattered 'thought-pot'....
Share ur side!!!

@Rohit,
welcome to my blog. SOrry u didnt like the questions... but thanks for the compliment on the pictures.. my husband took those over the weekend for a performance i did.

@dreamgirl,
Hello, welcome.. how did u end up here?
the song was "Man Mohini" from Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam... i had a blast.

Hi Pallavi,

My guess is, life wouldn't be too different than what yours is right now - in the emotional space that is. Parents, children and relationships don't change across the seven seas.

The colour of money does change, so does the name of your school, the logo on your car, the length of your skirt, and the postage stamp on your letters change.

You are what you are, and geography cannot change that. Not in today's day and age.

Stay Ambitious, Stay Confident, Stay focussed.

@Arjun,
U are amazing. Thanks for remembering my mom's bday :) I will def. wish her on your behalf =)

---@Nosh,
Your guess is somewhat correct, but not completely and that is my point of view, which could totally be incorrect in your opinion. But i think many people definitely change when they move away. parents-children relationships are surely different here than they are in india. families are not so 'close-knit' on this side of the world. Things are very formal. i dont ever say "thank you" or "i really appriciate you doing this for me" to my mother. I personally KNOW indian kids and parents who say these type of things to eachother. And i am sure there are families in india who live this way too. ( i find it strange).

The colour of money does change, so does the name of your school, the logo on your car, the length of your skirt, and the postage stamp on your letters change.
----agree with everything.....specially the skirt...i see the length keeps getting shorter in india day by day ;)

You are what you are, and geography cannot change that. Not in today's day and age.
--yes u are what you are... People dont change, situations and environments do.

Stay Ambitious, Stay Confident, Stay focussed.
--always try.

@Dreamgirl,
Hello =)...why surprised to know that i am married?
the performance was a for a diwali show for a university here. All the universities here have Indian student associations and they plan a diwali show every year along with many other Indian festival activities.... we try and keep the tradition here as much as we can. I enjoy going to these events.

@kannan
Hey i would love to read that poem...who wrote it? Welcome to my blog..frist time eh?

Hi Pallavi,
thoughtful set of questions.
Frm my point of view an average Indian family has very high aspirations frm their childern.They do their best so that their children are the best.
